Movie Review: Avatar

So Ellen and I went to see Avatar on Sunday night, and I’m so glad we did. That was an amazing movie! From the start it was visually spectacular, or should I say Seantacular! (thanks Krysta), not just because we saw it in “real d 3D”, but because the colours and the detail were amazing.

The story is about an injured ex-marine who finds himself sent off to a distant planet, partly because of the death of his twin brother who was workong on the planet, and partly because he is made an offer he can’t refuse.

I’m sure most of you have seen the trailers, which seemed like they were spoiling a lot of the movie, but they really didn’t. The movie just has so much happening the trailers were just the tip of the iceberg.

Some may say that the story arch is a little predictable, but who cares. The movie was amazingly entertaining, and at 2 hours and 45 minutes, it’s well worth the price of admission plus a little concession.

I highly recommend this movie, but if you’re going to see it any time soon get there early because we thought were there early and we were stuck in the 3rd row (still worth it though).
